Guy Opperman MP and active travel advocates visit York Central

The York Central team welcomed Guy Opperman MP, Minister for Roads and Local Transport and members of Active Travel England for a tour of the York Central site. It gave us an opportunity not only to show how well connected the site is – within walking distance of the train station – but also how York Central will provide great opportunities for ‘active travel’.

Along with our partner Network Rail, we also welcomed Councillor Claire Douglas, leader of City of York Council, to discuss the importance of connectivity for both the commercial and residential elements of the development, as well as demonstrating our aspirations for high quality and sustainability.

The scheme, which will be developed by Arlington Property and McLaren Property, will use the Homes England design code, to create at least 2,500 homes and up to one million sq. ft. of commercial space, including a new station entrance and hotel, a park and other open space.
